Coronavirus Planning:
NBS-JAX Conversion to Telehealth
(update as of 3/23/2020 @ 7 a.m.)
As of 3/23/2020, NBS-JAX is still open for limited in-person neuropsychological evaluations and psychotherapy sessions.
- Our office is taking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) very seriously to protect the public. We are adhering to advice set forth by our guiding organizations of the American Psychological Association, National Academy of Neuropsychology, and, of course, the CDC. * Please continue to monitor information: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.html
- There will only be one doctor in our offices spaces per day to see a limited number of patients (no more than 2 patients per day- seen in different office suites).
- Our office manager, Donny, is working remotely and is available via phone, text, and email during regular office hours 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Our main clinical psychologist who conducts psychotherapy, Dr. Hall, is conducting ALL of her psychotherapy sessions via telehealth using Microsoft Teams (see the Instructions link for further information).
- The current recommendation for THERAPY is to perform all applicable mental health therapies using telehealth and teletherapy mediums. NBS-JAX is moving to this model.
- For the limited number of patients coming to the office to see Dr. Prosje or Dr. Ritter for a neuropsychological evaluation: Offices and all supplies (test materials, writing utensils, surfaces, chairs, etc.) are disinfected prior to and after each and every patient. Hand sanitizer is frequently used during sessions. No patients are to touch/open our office doors without a sanitizing wipe.
- We are asking each patient and family member to wash his/her hands upon arrival, at each break, and when leaving the office.
- Dr. Prosje is investigating best practices for conducting neuropsychological evaluation testing via telehealth. Currently, all interviews (for the first section of the europsychological evaluations) can be conducted via telehealth. Dr. Prosje is seeing a majority of her psychotherapy patients using telehealth.
- Fortunately as of last week, most insurance panels are on board during this COVID-19 outbreak. This means that telehealth is covered no differently than if you came into the office (in terms of co-pay, deductible, etc.). NBS-JAX will be billing insurance for all telehealth sessions. As usual, we will also continue to conduct self-pay, out-of-pocket evaluations and sessions as requested.
- Your doctor plans to bill your insurance directly for the telepsychology session. You will see the following added to your regular CPT codes: POS= 02 and GT modifiers.
- Co-pays and co-insurance payments can be made via credit card by calling our office directly PRIOR TO the session.
- CANCELLATIONS: If you need to cancel your appointment due to illness, there will be no late cancel/no show fee during this time. If you choose to NOT come to the office for a neuropsychological evaluation, then please give us at least 24 hours advance notice. That way we can set up a telehealth session with the doctor and provide you time to learn the how to set up the session on your computer/device.
